Flat-Top Supercontinuum Laser for C-H Bond Spectroscopy in NIR-III Region
Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is widely recognized as a potent analytical tool, thanks to its ability to facilitate non-destructive, in-situ analysis with reduced water absorption compared to infrared spectroscopy while stronger signals than visible light spectroscopy [1]. For the past few years, NIR spectroscopy has been increasingly employed in biomedical imaging and environmental pollution detection, particularly the absorption in the first overtone region based on the carbon-hydrogen (C-H) bond found in the NIR-III region [2]. To expedite the acquisition of NIR-III region spectra, we have developed a supercontinuum laser with a flat-top profile from 1650 nm to 2000 nm via a dual-pump optical parametric amplifier, which benefits a seamless combination with a microscopy system and spectrometer to facilitate fast spectral acquisition.
