Multidimensional Fluorescence Spectroscopy for Chemical Chromatography
Optical detection of analytes in liquid chromatography instruments has many advantages: itis fast, sensitive, and non-destructive, i.e. samples can be fractioned after optical detection. Many HPLC capillary electrophoresis (CE), and microfluidic instruments are therefore equipped with fluorescence, absorption or refractive index sensors. Unfortunately, it is difficult to identify constituents in ─ especially unknown ─ samples from these spectra alone, and analytical chemists then turn to mass-spectrometry for detailed information.
