Optimizing Terahertz Driven Electron Acceleration Efficiency Within a Ring-Like Paraboloid Vacuum Accelerator

THz pulse-driven electron acceleration providing electrons with energy falling into the MeV range is a hot topic [1]. For such purpose single-cycle pulses in the 0.1 to 1 THz frequency range with mJ -level pulse energy [2], generated through optical rectification of femtosecond laser pulses using the tilted pulse front pumping technique [3] are available.

Abstract

THz pulse-driven electron acceleration providing electrons with energy falling into the MeV range is a hot topic [1]. For such purpose single-cycle pulses in the 0.1 to 1 THz frequency range with mJ -level pulse energy [2], generated through optical rectification of femtosecond laser pulses using the tilted pulse front pumping technique [3] are available.
