Compact, Low-Noise, Low-SWaP Diode Lasers and Photonic Modules for Quantum Technology Applications
Quantum technology applications like optical atomic clocks and quantum computers based on trapped ions require light sources of specific frequencies with low frequency noise. As such devices become more and more ubiquitous and are used on mobile platforms or even in space, robust and low size, weight and power (SWaP) lasers become essential. This makes diode lasers ideal candidates, but due to their broad emission spectra, frequency specificity and stability need to be ensured.
