Yb-Fiber Nonlinear Ultrafast Amplifier Seeded at Different Wavelengths
Fiber amplifiers working in the so-called gain-managed nonlinear amplification (GMNA) regime [1] have recently been proposed as an easier and competitive solution with respect to traditional Chirped Pulse Amplification (CPA) schemes [2]. GMNA fiber amplifiers exploit the interaction between positive dispersion and spectral gain evolution during pulse amplification, facilitating spectral broadening beyond the intrinsic gain bandwidth of the amplifier, with spectra extending from the absorption edge of the Yb-fiber to the Raman resonance, thus circumventing the limitation posed by gain narrowing in traditional CPA systems.
