430-fs Mode-Locked Fiber Laser at 1560 nm Using NiFeP as a Novel Saturable Absorber
Mode-locked fiber lasers have become indispensable tools in precision metrology, advanced manufacturing, environmental monitoring, and biomedical imaging. These versatile light sources are revolutionizing research and industrial processes through their ultrafast pulse generation and high peak powers. The performance and reliability of these lasers heavily depend on the quality of their key components, particularly the saturable absorber, which plays a crucial role in pulse generation and shaping. However, existing saturable absorbers often face challenges such as complex synthesis, instability, and short lifespans [1], [2]. This research focuses on implementing NiFeP as a novel saturable absorber to achieve stable mode-locking in fiber lasers. The NiFeP-based absorber exhibits excellent long-term operational stability exceeding 50 hours, addressing limitations of existing saturable absorbers and potentially advancing the field of ultrafast photonics.
