Polarization-Resolved Hyperspectral Imaging of Scarab Beetles
Understanding and classifying chiral structural color of scarab beetles [1], [2] across the phylogenetic tree [3] is an important scientific tool to explore the origins of the homochiral optical response in biological structures with a potential relation to the homochirality of (chitin) molecules. In additions, the study of chiral structures in nature offers valuable insights into chiral photonic materials.
