First Record of <i>Dermacentor bellulus</i>(Acari: Ixodidae)Found on a Brown Bear(<i>Ursus arctos</i> <i>yesoensis</i> Lydekker(Ursidae))in Hokkaido, Japan

In August 2023, a male adult tick Dermacentor sp.(Acari: Ixodidae), suspected to be Dermacentor bellulus(Schulze), was collected from a brown bear(Ursus arctos yesoensis(Lydekker)(Carnivora: Ursidae))in Hokkaido, northern Japan. Previous reports from Japan indicate that the northern distribution limit of D. bellulus is Yamagata Prefecture. Thus, this report is possibly an update on the northern distribution limit of D. bellulus.
