3D-Printed Dual-Axis 10-cm Scanning Mirror With Coplanar Flexure Springs
In this paper, we present several large-size 2D mirror scanners with coplanar flexure springs. The device features a 10-cm diameter mirror, mounted on a 3D-printed part including a circular mirror frame and three supporting coplanar flexures. The 3D printing material is PLA (polylactic acid). Electromagnetic actuation is utilized to control the tilt direction and angle. Under static actuation, one design exhibits its full optical scan angles of 4.2 and 3.9 degrees in the x and y directions, respectively.
