Summary of Active Power Filters in Power System Harmonic Control
With the rapid development of power electronics technology, while bringing more conveniences, harmonic pollution in power systems has become increasingly severe. To effectively suppress harmonics and improve power quality, Active Power Filter (APF) have emerged. These devices can dynamically track and compensate for reactive power and harmonics with varying frequencies and amplitudes. Currently, APF have become a critical research topic in power electronics. This paper begins by analyzing the generation and hazards of harmonics, summarizes the principles and common topologies of APF as key power electronic devices for harmonic mitigation, and explores future trends in APF development, providing effective reference pathways for harmonic management.
