Investigation of Optimal Electrical Insulation Systems of Stator Windings for Inverter-Fed Motors
This study aims to establish optimal electrical insulation systems by considering inverter surge voltages. First, an equivalent circuit model of an actual form-would motor is developed. The model is constructed by theoretically calculating the electrical circuit constants-resistance, inductance, and capacitance. Impulse voltages, reflecting the characteristics of inverter surge voltages, are applied to the actual motor, and the resulting waveforms are measured and compared with simulation results obtained from the equivalent circuit model. This paper presents the modeling process of the equivalent circuit and provides a comparative analysis of the impulse voltage distribution between experimental measurements and simulations.
