O PROCESSO DE ENFERMAGEM COMO NORTEADOR DO GERENCIAMENTO DE LESÃO POR PRESSÃO EM PACIENTES CRÍTICOS.
ABSTRACT The nursing process in the intensive care unit environment is fundamental, as it allows professionals to plan and provide individualized care to critically ill patients at risk of developing pressure injuries. This study aimed to identify the main nursing interventions for preventing and/or treating pressure injuries and develop a systematization of nursing care. This is a literature review of the Scielo, PubMed, and BVS databases, conducted between February and April 2025. Thirteen articles that met the inclusion criteria based on the topic were included in the study. The study’s findings highlight the importance of risk assessment using the Braden scale, as well as the effectiveness of prophylactic devices in preventing pressure injuries. Furthermore, it emphasized the importance of continuing education for nursing professionals. It is concluded that the care provided to critically ill patients must be planned individually according to the professional’s assessment of the patient’s needs and thus prevent and/or treat pressure injuries.
