Efectos de un Programa Entrenamiento Polarizado de 9 semanas en la Prueba De 50 metros Libre

Objective: determine the effects of a polarized training program on 50m freestyle performance. Methodology: A quantitative quasi-experimental design was applied with a single group (n=8) of 13-year-old male swimmers. The program was developed over 9 weeks of training with a weekly distribution of 7 water sessions, which were divided into: 4 in zone 1, 1 in zone 2 and 2 in zone 3). The high-intensity zone 3 focused mainly on freestyle, with main style stimuli. Pre-test and post-test measurements of the neuromuscular profile (SJ, CMJ, CONTINUOUS JUMP) and time in the 50m freestyle were performed. Results: No statistically significant differences were found regarding the neuromuscular profile variable (SJ: p= 0.706; CMJ: p= 0.280; CONTINUOUS JUMP: p= 0.956), which suggested that polarized training did not generate significant changes in dryland explosive strength. However, a positive influence was observed in terms of improving the 50-meter freestyle time, thus, a statistically significant improvement (p= 0.043). Conclusion: Although polarized training did not produce significant improvements in the neuromuscular profile measurement, an effective improvement could be observed in terms of specific performance in the 50-meter freestyle, which reinforces the value of polarized training as a possible strategy in aquatic disciplines.
