Keratocyst Coexistent with Dentigerous Cyst of the Mandible: Diagnostic Challenging and Treatment Approach- Rare Two Cases
This article outlines the diagnosis and treatment of two cases presenting with concurrent dentigerous cysts (DC) and odontogenic keratocysts (OKC) with similar radiographic and clinical appearances that occur simultaneously in the mandible in patients without syndrome. Case 1: A 9-year-old female with hemophilia C exhibited swelling in the lower jaw's retromolar regions. Radiographic assessments revealed well-circumscribed radiolucent areas associated with teeth #37 and #47 on both sides. Marsupialization addressed the right OKC, while enucleation treated the left DC. Satisfactory healing occurred with better recovery in the DC. No recurrence was observed during the three-year follow-up. Case 2: A healthy 21-year-old male, previously diagnosed with jaw cysts, presented lesions around #38 and #48. Marsupialization and enucleation were performed on the right and left lesions, respectively. Pathological examination confirmed DC and OKC. OKC recurred after 2 years, necessitating re-operation.
