Digital transformation is not just a technical adaptation, but a comprehensive strategic restructuring of enterprises in the digital age. Digital transformation requires the reconstruction of business models, operating processes and ways of creating and exchanging value. This is the transformation process from “traditional enterprises” to “data enterprises” - where digital technology not only supports operations, but also guides thinking, culture and development vision. Digital transformation is therefore not simply digitalization, but a strategic breakthrough of vital importance. In the context of Vietnam, digital transformation of enterprises needs to be approached as an inseparable part of the national economic development strategy. Digital transformation cannot be successful if it only relies on technology. Digital transformation requires a supporting ecosystem such as flexible institutions, high-quality digital human resources, open data infrastructure and especially innovative leadership thinking. Vietnamese enterprises need to overcome the “experimental” mindset to enter the “digital value creation” mindset. As the driving force of the economy, Vietnamese enterprises must take the lead in digital transformation, not only to improve productivity, but also to reshape their position in the global value chain. That requires entrepreneurs to not only be production operators, but also designers of digital value ecosystems. They must integrate technology, data and human resources into a long-term development vision, be highly adaptable and aim for social innovation. It is in that journey that digital transformation will become a strong driving force to help Vietnamese enterprises not only survive, but also break through.
