Oral Microbiome and Edentulism During Pregnancy: 16S rRNA Gene Analysis of an Indigenous Community—A Pilot Study
The findings suggest that pregnancy influences the oral microbiota composition, potentially predisposing women to dysbiosis and dental pathology. This study highlights the need for targeted oral health strategies during pregnancy and serves as a foundation for larger studies in underserved indigenous populations.
