Study questions need for higher doses of buprenorphine

Because of the potency of illicit fentanyl, it has been suggested that patients who present for treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD) be given higher doses of buprenorphine than the standard dose. For the same reason, it has been suggested that methadone is a better treatment medication than buprenorphine (see ADAW https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adaw.34358 ).
