Crystal plastic finite element model coupled with damage and mechanical properties of GH4169 polycrystalline alloy
The physical mechanism of crystal material between the macroscopic mechanical behavior and microstructure can be analyzed through the combination of crystal plasticity finite element method and experiments. In this paper, a crystal plastic finite element model coupled with damage constitutive (CPFEM-D) is established to research the mechanical behavior, damage characteristics and texture evolution of GH4169 nickel-based alloy. The results indicated that CPFEM-D could describe the deformation process from elasticity to damage. The yield stress increases with the strain rate, while the fracture strain decreases. During the tension, the initial damage occurs predominantly along the grain boundaries. As the deformation continues, the damage evolves and develops continuously at the grain boundaries and within the grains. In the damage concentration zone, the width of strain band with approximately 45° gradually decreases with the deformation increasing. The region essentially coincides with the damage, the average strain in this region is much greater than the corresponding tensile strain value. Damage can result in a decline in the concentration of crystal orientation in specific directions. Furthermore, the damage may potentially induce a certain degree of spatial orientation rotation in the initial stage, but the spatial orientation may exhibit dispersed and disordered characteristics as the damage increases.
