PANORAMA DAS PRODUÇÕES STRICTO SENSU SOBRE COLÉGIOS BILÍNGUES PARA SURDOS NO ENSINO MÉDIO NO BRASIL
This study aims to analyze stricto sensu academic productions on bilingual schools for the deaf that offer high school education in Brazil. This bibliographic research involved a review of theses and dissertations published between 2016 and 2024, located in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and the CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog. Initially, 360 works were identified. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, the final corpus for analysis consisted of four studies: three doctoral theses and one master's dissertation. The results highlight recurring demands, such as the need for ongoing teacher training, pedagogical reorganization, the development of individual plans for deaf students, curriculum restructuring, and the implementation of strategies for teaching Portuguese as a second language. The importance of the presence of deaf teachers in building a bilingual educational environment, geared toward and led by the deaf community itself, is also highlighted. Furthermore, the studies reinforce the urgency of adapting pedagogical practices to the linguistic and cultural specificities of deaf students. The conclusion is that there is a significant gap in the literature on this topic, highlighting the need for further research focused on implementing innovative pedagogical practices and strengthening public and linguistic policies that effectively promote bilingualism in deaf education in Brazil.
