Quality Assurance Through Layered Process Audits in the Automotive Industry

Layered Process Audits (LPAs) are a systematic approach used in quality management. Within the PEASA company, these audits are designed to assess and ensure the quality of processes across various layers within the organization. The primary goal is to proactively eliminate defects and prevent quality issues, rather than solely detecting them. This project was implemented by considering and evaluating different production areas to address the points that most impacted the process. Auditors were assigned to layers based on their job roles to ensure familiarity with the specific operations and processes associated with those roles. This facilitated a deeper and more specific understanding during the audit. By addressing issues at early stages, the probability of errors and defects that could impact the final product's quality was reduced.
