A nation endowed with not less than 44 different types of solid mineral resources spread over the 36 States and Federal Capital Territory. The most prominent of these minerals is gold which is the basis of this research hence the study examined financial and economic challenges resulting from illegal activities and theft of gold mineral resources in Nigeria and whether it is to the extent of giving us a picture of whether the Nation is under siege or not?
