Fabrication of a Metasurface “Mirror” Using Multiphoton Lithography for THz Applications

Given a specific architecture to the meta-atoms we are able to manipulate the electromagnetic waves2 and create novel applications overcoming the challenges where most of natural elements are not suitable to be used. An interesting region of frequencies like this, is the low THz (0.1-5 THz) regime where most of natural elements lack of electromagnetic response. This results to limited applications and devices, that can be potentially used between the electronics and photonics field.

Abstract

Inspired by nature's elements, metamaterials have gained significant attention in the field of photonics1, and not only.
