POTENCIAL GERMINATIVO DE SEMENTES DE Vouacapoua americana Aubl. COM DANOS NO TEGUMENTO
Vouacapoua americana, a plant native to the Amazon, was recognized for its timber potential, which led to intense extractivism and the depletion of its reserves, and is currently classified as "Endangered" on the official list of the Flora of Brazil. It has recalcitrant seeds, which make it difficult to store and produce seedlings. In this scenario, the study aimed to evaluate the impact of damage on the emergence of V. americana seedlings. The collection of plant material was carried out in two points of occurrence of acapu, located in Volta Grande do Xingu, near the municipality of Vitória do Xingu, PA. As a result, seeds with damage showed an emergence of 44.16%, while unharmed seeds had an emergence of 41.66%, with no significant difference. It is possible to conclude that the obtaining of V. americana seeds for the production of seedlings can be done from fruits that fall to the ground, regardless of whether they present damage or not.
