Consumer Sentiment as a Financial Predictor: A Marketing Analytics Approach to Stock Market Trends

This research paper examines the position of customer mood as a predictor of finance and how it influences tendencies in a stock market with the aid of a quantitative methodology. The survey was conducted on 250 respondents using a structured survey questionnaire that would evaluate the perceptions of the respondents, the level of their confidence, and emotions regarding the economic conditions and investing behavior. Descriptive analysis, correlation, and regression were the strategies to be used in the study in order to interpret and correlate consumer sentiment scores with performance of stock markets. This outcome was good positive relationship, meaning that, as the consumer sentiment will be good, the stock market will be inclined to be good. Regression analysis also supported the idea that the consumer sentiment is a key indicator of which way the stock market moves. Demographics showed a rather diverse sample of participants, which can support the formulation of the results that could be applied to other segments of society. The discussion has used the findings to relate to findings of the previous studies that arrived at similar conclusion that the behavior in the market is determined by the emotional and psychological mechanisms, rendering the current study valid. The study is a contribution to financial analysis because it contends that market predictions would probably improve due to emotional and behavioral data. It recommends entrepreneurs to notice the sentiments of the consumers because the, investors, policymakers, and financial analysts would be in a better position to make a better judgment. Further research will explore AI-sentiment-tracking so that we can be able to anticipate more in real time.
