Specific Considerations for Applying Resilience in Nuclear Power Plants
The paper is dedicated to examining the specific considerations involved in applying the concept of resilience to nuclear power plants (NPPs) with a particular emphasis on safety aspects. It provides a comparative analysis of the resilience concept and the fundamental defense in depth safety concept, highlighting their respective strengths and limitations. The study also adapts the typical resilience curve to the context of NPPs, taking into account that recovery phase may be unfeasible following severe accidents. By integrating these insights, the paper aims to advance the broader discourse on enhancing NPP safety and operational performance through the application of resilience concept.
