Intelligent Robust Control of Ethanol Production: Advantages and Comparison with PID
This paper is devoted to ethanol production process optimization, particulary of dough mixture preparation in order to improve the production process of ethanol and fuel ethanol. We have developed the robust linear-quadratic controller that, gives optimal robust control of the dough preparation based on feedback, which guarantees the optimization of the quadratic optimality criterion. The controller is based on measuring a consumption of raw materials and a concentration of dough and regulating the stable desired mixture level and concentration value by changing the flow rates of the mixture. By changing the flows of mixture, the cotroller regulates a constant concentration of mixture, and stabilize the flows, that satisfies more stable system, smooth operating regimes and economy of used energy, improvement of a quality of dough mixture and high quality final ethanol product.
