Improvement of PoA Consensus Algorithm Based on Verifiable Delay Functions and BLS
Proof of Authority (PoA) is an efficient consensus algorithm commonly used in permissioned blockchain systems. However, traditional PoA has certain limitations in terms of security and performance scalability. To address these issues, this paper proposes an improved PoA algorithm based on Verifiable Delay Functions (VDF) and BLS aggregate signatures to enhance the algorithm's security and consensus performance. By introducing VDF, unpredictable random numbers are generated to select leader nodes, improving the randomness and security of node selection. Meanwhile, using BLS aggregate signature enables efficient multi-node signature verification and significantly reduces communication complexity among nodes. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm enhances consensus efficiency while ensuring system security, making it suitable for blockchain applications with high demands for low latency and high performance.
