Sustainable Waste Management Using IoT and Public-Private Partnership Investments
This paper discusses PPPs contributions to the betterment of SWM in India in the midst of rapid urbanization and inefficient recycling systems. Ethnographic methodology will be applied to review SWM practices across Indian states through the lens of PPP investments. A conceptual IoT-based model is introduced here for real-time waste segregation and collection, that uses sensors, cloud computing to monitor and optimize. This suggests that there is a very high need to have public private collaboration, technological integration, and also community engagement that would be quite effective in SWM. Implication of this states that the assimilation of PPPs with the innovative technologies can go a long way in bettering sustainability of urban waste management.
