Broadband Circularly Polarized Dielectric Resonator Antenna by Staircase-Shaped Slot Excitation for C-Band Applications
A broadband dielectric resonator antenna with circular polarization is introduced for C band <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$(4 \text{GHz}-8 \text{GHz})$</tex> for 5G applications. The layout of antenna consists of a rectangular dielectric resonator between two cylindrical Dielectric resonators (DR, s) divided into two equal parts. The excitation to given antenna is provided with a stair shape slot with a single feed line. The output results of This DRA antenna provide an axial ratio <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$3\ \mathbf{d B}$</tex> wider and a total gain of 5.63 dB at 4.7 GHz operating frequency. The excitation introduced through a stair-shaped slot leads to the utilization of multiple orthogonal modes in the configuration of the antenna.
