Universalization of the Method of Predicting Software’s Quality Level based on the Requirements
The article develops the universalized method for predicting and assessing quality level of software by improving and universalizing the previously developed by the authors method for forecasting the level of software quality based on quality attributes. The benefits of the developed universalized method for predicting and assessing software’s quality are as follows: the possibility to forecast the quality of software under development based on existing requirements; the capability to compare different sets of software requirements and to make informed decisions on selecting the optimal set for high-quality software implementation; and the option to discard unsuccessful sets of requirements, which saves the project budget and time resources, and therefore reduces the likelihood of the project falling into the category of failed or challenged projects; independence from the programming language in which future software will be developed. The limitation of the developed method is the need for software requirements specifications and its orientation to software quality determination by standards ISO 25010, ISO 25023.
