Transforming Online Education: The Role of Computational Intelligence and Emerging Technologies

The internet is changing education through growth of online learning, which has expanded rapidly in recent years and exploded during COVID-19. With great flexibility and accessibility, as well as convenience for learners and professionals, online education offers unparalleled opportunities. The computational intelligence (CI) is one of the main factors that involve machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), and data analytics to improve learning environments. This paper will explore the technological infrastructure of online learning to examine how big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and other computing technologies have contributed to constructing the present e-learning environment. It will look at the pros, cons and challenges of the systems in place and identify the key technology gaps that remain. Finally, authors will discuss possible future innovations that can enhance the effectiveness of online learning and make it more accessible and engaging, including gamification, virtual reality, and AI-integrated personalized learning.
