Simulation Modeling of Optimal Signal Processing Method for Onboard Helicopter Radar of Surface Elevation Measurements
Rescue operations require a helicopter to land on an unprepared site in poor weather conditions or without visual contact with the out-of-cockpit environment. For safe maneuvering (landing, take-off, hovering) in poor visibility conditions, the pilot is forced to rely mainly on navigation systems, which often provide insufficient data. To solve the problem of helicopter safe landing on a non-equipped site, an optimal algorithm for processing spatiotemporal stochastic signals in an amplitude sum-and-difference radar system for surface measurement is synthesized using the maximum likelihood function method. The operability of the proposed method and the corresponding helicopter system is studied using the MATLAB package. As a result, the elevation measurement data of the optimal method for different types of surfaces are obtained.
