Redefining Operating System Design: Integrating Large Language Models as Core Components
This research paper presents a novel approach to AI-native operating systems and redefines user interaction. The novelty of this work lies in its innovative integration of the LLM Space, dynamic task decomposition, and multi-agent collaboration, which together establish a new paradigm for AI native operating systems. This approach, termed LLM OS introduces a new architecture integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into its core framework. Introducing the LLM Space, a novel layer between kernel and user spaces, the system enables seamless natural language interactions, redefining traditional user-computer interfaces. This architecture uses dynamic task decomposition and multi-agent collaboration to perform various tasks. LLM OS enhances user productivity, adapts to individual preferences, and provides intuitive, efficient system management. This approach aims to simplify complex tasks and automate workflows by reducing the neural load on a user, all while addressing challenges like performance optimization, privacy, and ethical concerns. This work establishes a foundation for AI- native operating systems, shaping the future of human-computer interaction.
