A Power Self-Decoupling Control for the Quad-Active Bridge Converter with Low-Computation Burden

The quad-active bridge converter (QAB) has gained widespread attention in DC microgrids due to its features such as high energy density, full isolation, and the ability to integrate more distributed generation. However, one of the main challenges is how to achieve simplified power decoupling control for the QAB converter. To address this problem, this paper proposes a power self-decoupling control method for the QAB converter. The proposed power self-decoupling control does not require offline solving of the decoupling matrix, and the current inner loop only requires tuning of the integral parameters, making the control process simple. Finally, a hardware in loop (HIL) experimental platform is built to verify the effectiveness of the proposed power self-decoupling control. Experimental results show that compared to the previous decoupling matrix control, the process is not only simpler, but the dynamic response is also significantly improved.
