Method for Power Analysis-Proof Implementation of Modular Exponentiation on IoT Terminal Microcontrollers
The paper proposes a method for calculating the basic operation of public key cryptography - modular exponentiation with group processing of the exponent code and the use of pre-calculations that depend on the number that is raised to a power. This made it possible to protect the implementation of public-key cryptography mechanisms on terminal microcontrollers and smart cards from power analysis attacks. Unlike known methods that require a lot of time, the proposed method allows accelerating the software implementation of public-key cryptography. The paper provides a formalized description of the proposed method procedures, the operation of which is illustrated by examples.
