Information Technology of Formal Verification and Design of FPGA Electronic Projects

The rapid advancement in technology has heightened the importance of ensuring reliability and functional safety in hardware and embedded software for programmable logic devices, particularly Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). This paper explores contemporary approaches to formal verification and FPGA electronic design, emphasizing the critical need for reliable solutions in digital instrumentation and control systems (ICS). Traditional simulation methods often fall short in ensuring the required level of reliability, especially in safety-critical applications where errors can have severe consequences. Formal verification, leveraging mathematical techniques, has emerged as a pivotal tool to address these challenges by providing rigorous proofs of system correctness. This paper presents an in-depth analysis of existing formal verification methods, such as theorem proving, model checking, and equivalence checking, and discusses their applications and limitations. The integration of information technology into these methods is highlighted as means to automate and improve the verification process, reducing errors and development time. By proposing new solutions and methodologies, we aim to optimize the design and verification processes for FPGA-based projects.By incorporating formal verification into the safety lifecycle of programmable controllers, we demonstrate how these techniques can enhance system robustness and prevent potential failures.
