A Novel Beampattern Design Method for MIMO Radar and Its Robust Variants
In this paper, a beampattern design method for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) radar is proposed, which utilizes partial key points to design the transmission beampattern. This method effectively concentrates more transmit power within the beam, reduces the peak sidelobe energy of the beampattern and enhances the radar's detection capability. In addition, considering the presence of steering vector errors in the radar transmit array, a robust version of the proposed beamforming design method is derived. This robust approach mitigates the deformation of the beampattern under array errors. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
