Multi-Zone Joint Operation Strategy Using the Common Reservoir Mode of Micro-Pumped Storage System

To promote energy interaction between distribution network stations, this paper proposes a low-voltage area joint operation strategy based on the common reservoir operation mode of the micro-pumped storage system (mPSS). Based on the same capacity of all area mPSS s, the proposed method improves the overall new energy consumption capacity of multiple areas and reduces the dependence of low-voltage areas on the distribution network by connecting multiple area reservoirs. The simulation results show that compared with the independent operation mode of the mPSS in the substation, the proposed method reduces the power cost of the substation by 0.91 %; in terms of new energy consumption, it increases by about 0.55 MWh, and in terms of power supply dependence on the distribution network, it reduces by 9.29 %. In addition, under similar operating conditions of multiple low-voltage substations, the lower reservoir capacity of CLRM is <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{7 0 \%} \sim \mathbf{8 0 \%}$</tex> of the total capacity of the lower reservoir of SRM, which can reduce the reservoir capacity construction of the mPSS to a limited extent.
