A Modular Active Power Regulation Device for Low-Voltage Distribution Networks
Low-voltage distribution networks (LVDNs) are intricate power distribution systems that encompass a significant number of users. Voltage limit violations and three-phase imbalance are among the more challenging power quality issues within LVDNs, significantly impacting the end-user's electricity experience. This paper proposes a modular active power regulation device (APRD) designed for power quality management in LVDNs, which is equipped with functions for voltage limit violation mitigation and three-phase imbalance management. The device is characterized by its flexibility, scalability, and ease of maintenance and upgrade. By developing and testing the device in a real LVDN, the effectiveness of the proposed device has been validated.
