A Smart System for Managing Healthy School Meals and Improving Health Awareness
Health and education are closely connected, they influence each other and serving as a reflection of a society's progress. However, there is a real gap in focusing on healthy nutrition during early education stages. This research presents the idea of a digital platform to promote health in schools across Saudi Arabia by introducing an electronic healthy food system that provides nutritious meals through automated vending machines. The system offers awareness tools for parents, which allow them to select suitable meals for their children while displaying calorie counts and sensitivity information based on the needs of their child. The proposed system ensures that students receive clean, healthy food while also providing a secure financial management system through a smart payment mechanism. Additionally, this system will help prevent food contamination, reduce unhealthy or exposed food, support the national economy, and contribute to digital transformation and smart services.
