Smart Shopping Carts: Revolutionizing Retail with Arduino-Based Real-Time Billing Systems

There is typically a tremendous rush on weekends and during festivals, particularly in the larger cities. Large discounts and incentives cause more people to go to supermarkets or shopping centers. Supermarkets want to save consumers time and ensure that all items are available to them. Customers may experience confusion and frustration when comparing the overall cost of all items to their pre- billed budget, as well as when standing in line at the billing counter. In order to solve these problems, we created a passive, affordable shopping cart that runs on an Arduino platform. An LCD display and a QR scanner are attached to the trolley for operation. Whenever we place an object, the QR Scanner automatically finds the QR code on the merchandise. Supermarkets' main objective is to save customers time and ensure that all products are available. Customers may experience frustration while queuing at the checkout counter, and they may also feel perplexed when assessing the total cost of their items in comparison to their available budget prior to finalizing their purchase. We created a sturdy, affordable passive Arduino-based shopping cart to solve these problems; an LCD monitor and a QR scanner are attached to the trolley for system operation. The QR Scanner automatically captures the product's QR code as it's placed inside the cart. Through a display, the item's details are presented, enabling real-time tracking and processing of shopping data, thereby adding the item's price to the bill. The inconvenience of the long line at the counter can be eliminated by using this strategy, as the trolley will handle all billing on its own. This method will eliminate the need for clients to stand in line in order to have their product items scanned for billing reasons.
