Embedded System Based Solutions for Enhanced Wearable Health Monitoring Device

With the increasing demand for personalized healthcare, Wearable Health Monitoring Devices (WHMDs) are becoming crucial for continuous health tracking, particularly for the elderly, high-risk individuals, and chronic disease patients. This study presents a WHMD that integrates an Arduino microcontroller with multiple biomedical sensors, including heart rate, respiratory, movement, MEMS, and temperature sensors, enabling real-time monitoring of vital signs. The device utilizes an Embedded System (ES) to process the collected data and detect abnormal health patterns, such as irregular heart rates, abnormal breathing, or elevated temperatures, prompting SMS alerts to caregivers or healthcare professionals for timely intervention. The ES adapts to individual health baselines, reducing false alarms and enhancing diagnostic accuracy. WHMD is a combination of multi-sensor integration, real-time data processing, adaptive algorithms, compact design, and predictive healthcare capabilities, all aimed at improving personalized, continuous, and proactive healthcare management, especially for vulnerable populations
