Selective Broadcasting Based Data Communication for Software Defined Vehicular Networks
Technological advancements and automation in vehicle networks have improved road safety and reduced congestion in megacities, where traditional transportation systems become increasingly inefficient as mobility and traffic grow. The development of autonomous vehicles has enabled this by deploying a number of sensors to collect information about their surroundings. One of the most important needs for these vehicles is that they provide QoS assurances in terms of service delivery and reliability. To achieve these goals, this paper proposes a selective broadcasting-based data communication method that supports efficient data transmission. In this case, Software Defined Networks are used as crucial technologies to improve the proposed approach in terms of Quality of Service. Extensive simulations have also been conducted utilizing the NS3 simulator and the evaluated results show that the performance of the proposed mechanism outperforms in terms of various QoS-based parameters.
