Design and Research of Bistable Rotating Piezoelectric Energy Trap for Variable Potential Wells

This paper designs a bistable rotational piezoelectric energy harvester based on a variable potential well. The energy harvesting structure mainly consists of a cantilever beam, piezoelectric element, magnets, and spring. The spring causes the magnet to move, achieving the effect of a variable potential well, in contrast to a fixed magnet. The dynamic equations of the bistable piezoelectric rotational energy harvester with a variable potential well are established using Hamilton's principle. Furthermore, the potential function analysis demonstrates that the structure exhibits variable potential well behavior. By comparing with the classic bistable structure, it is found that this energy harvester maintain large-amplitude oscillations between the stable states even under higher magnetic forces, thereby enhancing the energy output.
