Research on the Development Trend of Cross-Disciplinary Subjects in Universities with Electronic Information Characteristics Based on the Analysis of Citation Data
With the advancement of the Double World-Class Initiative and the growing emphasis on interdisciplinary research, coupled with the demands of the electronic information industry, electronic information-featured universities-represented by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), and Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology (XIDIAN)-have actively pursued interdisciplinary programs to enhance academic competitiveness. Leveraging the Web of Science Core Collection and Essential Science Indicators databases, this study analyzes highly cited publications from these institutions. By integrating visual analytics, machine learning algorithms, and data mining frameworks, we dissect the current landscape of interdisciplinary development and propose evidence-based strategies for fostering high-quality interdisciplinary innovation, aiming to inform policy-making for academia-industry synergy in electronic information-featured ecosystems.
