Comparison of UAV-GT Trajectory for Wireless Communication

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are a new era technology in the field of wireless communication that provides new innovative solutions for urban as well as rural areas. A well-designed UAV trajectory is an important research consideration for obtaining the expected performance of the UAV wireless communication network. In this article, well designed UAV to ground terminal (GT) trajectories are compared i.e. straight, circular, and projectile trajectories on the basis of performance parameters i.e. data transmission rate, energy consumption and network connectivity. Projectile trajectory shows received signal strength approximately 10 dbm more than straight and circular trajectories. Data transmission rate is approximately double than straight and circular trajectories. Energy consumption of circular path is 4 times more than projectile and straight path. There is a little significant variation in straight and projectile trajectory energy consumption. Overall, the projectile trajectory shows better performance.

There is a little significant variation in straight and projectile trajectory energy consumption. Overall, the projectile trajectory shows better performance.
