Performance of Domestic CPU Based on X86 and ARM Architecture in Private Cloud Scenarios
ARM servers and ARM cloud platforms have rapidly developed globally in recent years. At the same time, specific industries in China are promoting the replacement of traditional Intel and AMD CPUs with domestic CPUs. Against this backdrop, the domestic CPU solution faces a choice between the Hygon X86 CPU and the domestic ARM CPU like Kunpeng. To study the above issues, this article conducted in-depth research on two domestic CPUs, Hygon C86 7265 (X86 architecture) and Kunpeng 9205250 (ARM architecture). The comprehensive performance of two CPUs in virtual machines under private cloud solutions based on open-source technologies like OpenStack was compared through UnixBench benchmark testing and popular open-source software performance testing. The test results show that under the private cloud solution tested this time, the virtual machine based on Kunpeng 9205250 achieved significantly better results than the Hygon C86 7265 virtual machine in most test items. This proves that among the current domestic CPUs, Kunpeng CPUs have obvious practicality and performance advantages in private cloud scenarios and should be given priority in the selection of relevant domestic CPUs. This study provides experimental data support for the application of domestic CPU in the field of cloud computing, and provides a reference for enterprises when choosing domestic CPU solutions.
