A Study on Yatch Race Path Planning Based on a Star Algorithm
As sailing becomes more prevalent around the world, more and more young people are joining the sport. The choice of sailing paths in a race often depends on the athletes' personal experience. If computer technology is introduced to assist decision-making before the race, the path selection of athletes can be further optimized, thus improving the athletes' performance. In this paper, we start with the introduction of sailing principles. For the sailing path planning problem in sailing competitions, we model the environment of some real domestic racecourses, use meteorological software to simulate the wind field and water flow and utilize the A-star algorithm to derive the optimal route paths according to the mark position and visualize the output. Simulation experiments verify the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed method, which can meet the requirements of pre-race path planning and help athletes simulate planning decisions before the race.
