A Pooling Energy Storage Based Method for Constructing Microgrid Clusters of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

This paper proposes a construction method of microgrid clusters centered on pooling energy storage system (Pooling ESS) and electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS). With the rapid development of renewable energy application across the globe, especially the high penetration of photovoltaic (PV) generation, maintaining stable grid operation has become increasingly challenging. Microgrids, with their distributed resources, offer an effective solution in this context, particularly for regions with unreliable power supply. The proposed AC/DC hybrid microgrid structure demonstrates enhanced adaptability. Through the topology and control strategies discussed in this paper, it enables efficient integration of distributed energy sources, improving the stability of power supply for EV charging loads while reducing PV curtailment through pooling energy storage. Furthermore, the practical applicability of the proposed microgrid cluster construction method is verified through a case study., providing theoretical support for future microgrid construction and renewable energy utilization.
