A Novel Framework for MA Lattice Digital Filters: Circuit and State–Space Realization
This paper presents a moving average (MA) filter implementation that is used for a finite impulse response (FIR) filter, with minimum or maximum phase. The delay operators of the filter are interchanged, instead of the conventional serial setting. The proposed circuit structure is distinguished by the fact that it uses the fewest number of time delays possible. As a result, the dimension of its state–space vector in its state–space model is minimal. Step–by–step examples, are provided that demonstrate the unique characteristic of this MA lattice digital filter in comparison with the well–known MA lattice conventional filter.
